Mission and Vision
An outreach ministry of Columbia City United Methodist Church
As an extension of Columbia City United Methodist Church, City Kids Preschool is grounded in the mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We are devoted to living out this mission by embracing the church’s guiding vision: LOVE FIRST—before all else, just as Jesus commands.
As a Christ-centered, high-quality educational ministry serving the children and families of Whitley County, our calling is twofold:
To nurture a deep love for God in every child
To lay strong foundations for lifelong learning
Our relationship-based classrooms foster holistic growth—spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical—because we believe that each child is a precious creation of God, uniquely gifted and unconditionally loved. We are honored to support each child as they grow in both faith and knowledge.

We welcome every child and family with grace, compassion, and without judgment.

Intentional Growth
We focus on developmentally appropriate learning that supports all areas of growth—language and social skills, pre-academics, self-help, and motor development.
We guide each child to understand they are a beloved gift from God through engaging, age-appropriate worship, prayer, and Bible stories.
We draw on our collective experience and passion for early childhood education to prepare each child for a confident, successful transition into kindergarten.
Passionate Outreach
We foster compassion, responsibility, and self-confidence through intergenerational connections with screened and caring volunteers from the congregation.
We nurture a spirit of generosity in children by engaging them in simple, meaningful service projects that reflect Christ’s love for others.
At City Kids Preschool, we don’t just educate children—we help them grow in faith, flourish in love, and become the people God created them to be.
