Hi, I’m Phil. My ministry work includes time as a pastor, worship leader, youth leader, and technical producer for churches all through Indiana. For the last decade of my life in ministry, I have had a passion for reaching young adults and adults in new and creative ways through teaching, worship, and spiritual discipline. My desire is to see a world that can see God in everyday life. That instead of living loud only on Holy Holidays and Sunday, we can live loud for God in everyday lives and everyday situations. I have been married the love of my life, and the most amazing woman in the world, Ashley, since 2015.
Director of Children’s Ministry
My name is Karen Hedrick and I have been employed as the Children & Family Ministry Director at Columbia City United Methodist Church since Spring 2017. After 17 years of working as an elementary and middle school teacher, I could no longer deny that the Lord was calling into ministry. My greatest passion is loving and embracing families in this community--no matter the need. My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for 18 years and our three greatest blessings: Alex, Andrew, and Amaya keep us crazy busy each and every day. If you can't find us in the bleachers of a gym watching a basketball game, you can spot us on a golf course watching one of our boys trying to birdie a hole. Me, personally, I love to craft with my daughter and spend hours and hours at Hobby Lobby dreaming of our next project. Our hearts bleed "crimson and cream" for the IU Hoosiers and we cheer on the "blue crew" and our Indianapolis Colts during the NFL season.
